Knights of God. The Death and Resurrection of JESUS CHRIST is the foundation of our salvation. Why you should write God's word on the posts of your house and on your gates. |
|
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And you shall love the LORD your God with all of your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in your heart: And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when thou sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 ) This is the scripture that JESUS was referred to as the first commandment: That we love the LORD our GOD with all of our hearts, and with all of our souls, and with all of our strength and might. The act of speaking the word was to be an integral part of every believers life, and we were commanded to talk of them when we rise up - in the morning, when we walk by the way - during the day, and when we lie down - before we go to sleep at night. God wanted us to be speaking his words morning, noon, and night. God not only wanted us to speak and hear his word, but to see it often. So he commanded that we write them upon the posts of our houses and on our gates. One more thing we should consider: Exodus 12:23 For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he sees the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. You decide: Is it possible that there is a blessing in writing GOD's word on our posts of our houses and on our gates. Is it possible that obedience to this commandment will keep evil from us. While we do not want to make a law out of this, we think that it is always wise to obey GOD, and that those who obey GOD are always blessed. Jeremiah 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
